Sí . El 'any' y el 'some' se me suelen cruzar de vez en cuando (como tantas otras cosas ).

The problem is compounded as:
a category/one category/some category are confusing. any/other/another are not that confusing. |

In Spanish "alguno" is an "indefinido existencial", while "cualquiera" is "de indiferencia". There's a small difference among them (although they could be interchangeable). I think "some" gives the idea that is in "alguno"; "any" gives me the idea of indifference.
