A proposito/BTW Perikles. I have a very good book for learning Spanish that's based entirely on this 1066 French into English concept. The book is called "Madrigal's Magic Key to Spanish." ..... All this posible because of what happened in 1066.

An interesting approach, but I think questionable. Spanish derives from vulgar Latin, not the classical Latin root of Norman French. While you can quote thousands of 'familiar' words, you could probably quote as many 'false friends' which confuse the issue. (I can't think of any at present - too much cheap Spanish wine )

Dutch! Definitely. When I listen to it, if the speaker is enunciating well enough, I can understand quite a bit.
