Pisha

Hi,

another word that bothers me and I could find a translation (I understand). Maybe you could explain what it means. The sentence I found the word in is: "Lo siento pisha, pero aquí no."

Was this an Argentinian saying this? Pisha is not Spanish, but the "sh" sound is commonly heard in Argentina even though "sh" is nonexistent in Spanish (the letter x is sometimes a substitute). If you heard it right, perhaps "pisha" is someone's name.

I have found out that's a phonetical adaption from picha, which I also cannot found. All the Spanish explaination seem to refer to family, friends and it's kind of a bad word and only for those you know (very) well.

I've just been told that despite the more or less obscene meaning of "penis", the word is used in Andalucía to refer to a friend, like "dude", I assume. Of course, not all words for familiar treatment are appropriate for anyone in any context.
