I have come across some examples where sÃrvase is used similarly to favor de. Is this term used in Mexico?

Yes, it is, although "favor de" is more frequently used.

I'd just add that sÃrvase Is a little bit of a command. Like 80% favor de and 20% of "Be good, behave and do ask asked".
