Thanks for the thumbs up, Crotalito. fishing=pescar
Ambarina, Yo habrÃa ido pescando (pescar?) pero en cambio tenÃa (tuviera?) que trabajar. Clue: habrÃa ido a..... Clue (same for the second verbs below):what past tense should you use? Tuve? dejó? Have we ran out of past tenses yet? My head hurts. Why not tenÃa? I'm not a student, just learning on my own. It's okay if you fix my mistakes but if you would rather, clues are fun too. Thanks mucho! |

In the first sentence (Yo habrÃa ido a pescar pero tenÃa/tuve que trabajar). Why I crossed out "tenÃa"? God only knows. as both are possible. Sorry for mucking you up. In the second case, i.e. the husband would't/didn't let her sing, has to be "dejó". I'm not partial to just correcting mistakes. I think people learn more from trying to correct their own mistakes at least that's been true in my experience when learning a language, unless of course they're just minor things like extra or missing articles, etc. and I'll carry on using clues. It's commendable that you're learning off your own bat. I think that's the hardest. Keep it up. And "Thanks mucho!" and "Of nothing!" to you.
