Esta frase...
In South Gate, friends and family grieved for a girl whose life was cut too short. ...quisiera traducirla de esta manera: En South Gate, los amigos y familiares lloraron la pérdida de una muchacha cuya vida fue interrumpida demasiado temprano. ¿Qué les parece?

"Temprano" no me cuadra mucho para este contexto; prefiero "pronto".
Y para este tipo de construcciones más "poéticas", he visto el cliché "...cuya vida fue sesgada demasiado pronto". @Poli: Yes, you could say that, but that wouldn't imply her being murdered. She might have died in an accident or from a disease.

@Angélica: sesgar debe ser una metáfora, pues encuentro en todas partes una definición parecida a esta: Quote:
@poli: "una vida inesperadamente breve" la podría haber usado, pero la niña es una 'miracle girl' debido a una cardiopatía congénita que tuvo necesidad de operaciones quirúrgicas muy delicadas cuando era pequeñita. Por lo tanto lo 'inesperado' fue que hubiese vivido tanto. @chileno: quizás 'temprano' se usa más bien por nuestros lares. Quise poner 'demasiado luego' pero me pareció una exageración. Reitero mis agradecimientos.

¿Qué tal el infinitivo sesgar?
1. tr. Cortar o partir en sesgo. [...] @Poli: I misinterpreted it, but certainly it can be said about anyone dying of an unexpected cause.

There are indeed many ways, but "enbrevecer" is not Spanish.
Una vida acortada/reducida/cortada/truncada...
