Hola a todos. Estoy confundido por una parte de mi lectura de la literatura y cultura medieval en España.

"El feudalismo era la organización político-económica de la sociedad medieval. En esta organización existían dos elementos importantes:
1. El vasallaje: blah blah...
2. El beneficio, que era el pago por dichos servicios, normalmente mediante la concesión de tierras."

¿Qué significa el beneficio? Yo sé que típicalmente suele significar profit, pero no sé que quiere decir en este contexto. Agradecimientos.

beneficio = profit

is not the most used meaning of the word

beneficio = benefit

is the most common meaning

Beneficio is what the lord had to give in exchange for the services and allegiance of his vassal, for example, a fiefdom.
