This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for September 15, 2009
subir (verb) — to go up, to raise. Look up subir in the dictionary Subió la temperatura justo antes de que viniera la tormenta. It got really hot right before the storm hit.

El hombre se subió al coche, entonces condujo para tres horas antes de bajar del coche. Después de eso, se dio cuenta de que olvidaba su esposa a la casa! Había que manejar atrás (no seguro de esa palabra) para tres más horas
