Esperar confiado

Esperar confiado

Pues aquí estamos.Con una preguntita más para que no nos olvidemos.Cuanto alguien esta esperando confiado, significa que es presumido ? seguro ? tiene un sentido negativo ?
La frase se sigue como ".... y esperó confiado ,no sin cierto desdén.."

no, es literal
esperar: esperar
confiado: con confianza, con seguridad, con fe
esperar confiado: espera seguro de que va a pasar

El inversor esperó confiado en la subida de las bolsas, como sucedió posteriormente
El inversor esperó confiado en la subida de las bolsas, pero la crisis bancaria apareció...

en ambos casos es la misma frase y el mismo sentido, aunque el desenlace sea distinto.

en tu caso:
.... y esperó confiado ,no sin cierto desdén..
y espero sabiendo que pasaría XXX, no sin cierta indiferencia/desprecio/mostrar importancia.
