Use of estar and ser

An online spanish tutorial has The apple is green.
La manzana está verde.
La manzana es verde.
In the second it is the physical characteristic of that type of apple.
If a train station is always going to be in the same place and presumably until it closes down will always be a train station. When giving directions should it not be

Allí es la estación
not
Allí está la estación

The physical location of an object is always stated using "estar": mobility or immobility is irrelevant.
