"Pocas especies en el mundo están seguidas tan de cerca como el lince ibérico. Las zonas que habitan están llenas de cámaras trampa para registrar sus poblaciones y estudiar su comportamiento."
Would 'hidden cameras' be an accurate translation for 'cámaras trampa' here? Many thanks in advance. |

These are called a 'camera traps' in English. They are basically cameras that take pictures (some record video) in remote areas, usually triggered by motion detection (some sense heat). They aren't menacing or harmful to wildlife. However, because some use flash photography, they need to be moved around because animals are spooked by the flash and avoid the area once they've been photographed.
