"el asunto de la nariz"?
The passage below appears at the end of a book chapter. I've just included most of it for context, but really, I'm just confused by the last sentence, which translates as "And then, the whole nose thing happened." There is no mention of any "nose thing" at any point before this, so I can only imagine this must be some expression or something? But I find nothing explaining it when I try to look it up.
"—Porque me gustas —gritó, para después dejar paso a un incómodo silencio— Quiero decir… Cuando dejé España lo último que tenía en la cabeza era conocer a alguien y, sin embargo… —No puedo creerte. —¿Cómo puedo demostrártelo? —Será mejor que te vayas —le dije mientras entornaba la puerta, pero él introdujo el pie para evitar que la cerrara. —Retira la casa de la venta si quieres, no me importa. Dímelo y yo mismo se lo comunicaré al señor Ibarra. —He dicho que… Y entonces, ocurrió todo el asunto de la nariz." |
