The notion is the same in Spanish, although this "particular" use is also accepted.

"Creo que (yo) comprendo."


"Chacotear" is not a very common verb. "To have fun" is usually translated as "divertirse". But your sentence has the right conjugation.


Sabía que te divertirías.
I knew you would have fun.

Sabía que ella se divertiría ayer.
I knew she'd have fun yesterday.
