Se le proponen
hello
"escoja solo una de las dos opciones que se le proponen" why not "les proponen" ? I mean the "le" doesn't refer to the opciones? "se (at you, ustd) le (these options) proponen" and since it is plural, shouldn't it be "les"? thanks |

Eh ok sorry I don't mean to add to the confusion.
![]() But isn't 'se' part of proponer(se) as in 'se propone', 'it presents itself'/'is being presented' and 'le' the indirect object (usted becomes 'le' in this case, as an indirect object pronoun). ![]() http://www.studyspanish.com/lessons/iodopro.htm

The verb is proponerse, and the le is the indirect object, 'to you' polite form.
Please correct if this is nonsense. ![]() (cross-posting with above) |

No nonsenses, both of you are right
![]() In exams or exercises, it is used to speak to you in singular, because they are speaking to the pupil, to one pupil, the one who is doing the exam. It is also common to avoid the IO: Escoja solo una de las dos opciones que se proponen. The treatment is "usted" in your example; if the treatment were "tú", the question would change: Escoge solo una de las dos opciones que se proponen (or que se te proponen, but really this is not quite used).

![]() You could say 'silly things', 'silly stuff' or maybe 'stupidities' but then even with 'stupidity' I think it tends to be in singular.. ![]() 'Daftness', 'silliness', 'senselessness' , 'stupidity' , 'foolishness' or the somewhat more oldfashioned 'folly' all tend to be in singular.. Maybe someone else knows a creative plural form..? (perhaps 'follies'??)
