I find the best one word translation of convenir is "to suit". Although, it often sounds awkward when translated to English, you are able to understand what the Spanish sentence means.
No te conviene malgastar todo el dinero que tienes en ropa. It doesn't suit you to waste all the money you have on clothes. ¿Te conviene quedar manaña? Does it suit you to meet tomorrow? "Me conviene a quedarme en casa hoy a causa de la nieve." It suits me to stay home today because of the snow. |
