cuando uso haber o tener?
Sé que el sentido de estas palabras es igual. im a beginner so please correct me if i had mistakes in my questions... 1. when do is use haber or tener? 2. i know that they mean the same. Gracias... |

Haber and tener can both be translated as "to have" in English, but their usage is not interchangeable.
Use tener when you are talking about having or possessing something. Use haber to form the perfect and pluperfect tenses. Tener is an actual meaningful verb (the word carries meaning), and haber is a helping verb. Tengo gripa = I have a cold Tengo dinero = I have money Tengo coche = I have a car He leído el libro = I have read the book Habías ido = You had gone Hubiera cantado = I should have sung
