Ling Po saying
“He who neglects to drink of the spring of experience is likely to die of thirst in the desert of ignorance.”
I saw this maxim by Ling Po, the great Chinese poet. I do not have the original Chinese quote, but I wonder if he is literally using the same metaphors as in English...? (Not sure if this question belongs here, and/or under Chinese... but in finding the concept very applicable to life, I thought it was a good idea to share it... lest we die of thirst!

I think the closest thing in English is the comparitively proseic
don't bury you head in the sand. Also knowledge is power.
