that certainly makes things alot clearer particularly with the quiero ir and quiero que because although i knew quiero que signalled the use of the subjunctive i wasn't sure when you use it but your example really helped.

it has lots of example clauses that signal the use of the subjunctive although i think it'd take a while to remember all of them.

Good find on that site. It looks like they have a very good description of how to use the subjunctive.
