Present perfect subjunctive

'Suponer' is the same as 'creer;' both communicate knowledge about something that the speaker feels is correct. Always remember to look at this from the speaker's point of view. When we believe something, we believe it. When we guess about something, it is correct as far as we know.


(There is a case in that same sentence where the subjunctive mood is used. It's in the clause that follows 'se opuso'. 'Oponerse' is a verb of influence or will.)

Remember that both no creer que and no suponer que should generally be followed by the subjunctive.
