Hola, amigos!
Hola, I am dismay!
I am a 20-year-old from Australia, and I've always wanted to learn a new language. I was in a toss up between, Spanish, German and Korean. I began with German and even though it was the closest language to English, the grammar was far from close. I convinced myself to learn Spanish instead, because of how popular it is used around the world, and I have friends that speak Spanish from Chile. There is no real reason why I want to learn another language, I guess the main reason is that people think differently in other languages, even though they're the same person. I honestly want to know if this was true, but I do still want to learn it so I can speak to other Espanol speakers online. Hasta luego, dismay |

Welcome to the forums!
When you are learning another language, there comes a point when you start thinking in the other language. Bilingual folks switch easily between languages because their thoughts drive the articulation. Prior to that moment, your brain has to do the translation from your native tongue to the other one. That is not ideal, of course. |
