volverse blanco

Hola todos!

I was reading an article (trying to anyway) y encontre una oracion que no entiendo... es "se han vuelto blancos" Y no logro entender que significa. Me pueden ayudar?

I don't think this can mean - they have turned white?

Blanco means white, but it also means "target" in this case, based on teh context, it means "they have become targets".

From what Tomisimo says, (and the dictionary) I don't think it means anything other than a target that you shoot at.
