This pertains to the Wild West culture that the US shares with Mexico.
Cowboys would rope in cattle with lasos or larriets. "Getting roped in"
is as proverbial phrase we use for constraining things.

Makes getting married look quite appealing and attractive.

Have you heard of this?
Absolutely. It's symbolic "rope" (it's more like a big necklace) they put around the bride and groom's necks to join them. I'm not sure about the history/origin of the custom. Here are some sample lazos. http://www.nuestraboda.com/tienda/lazos/index.php

I don't think the idea was to be "roped" like cattle!

It's a Catholic symbol of unity. "What the church has united let no man undo" or something to that effect.

I think it's quite interesting, an beautiful at the same time. But not how you guys have been talking about it!

Elaina

Sosia, I love to dream...in the daytime, at night, whenever.....soy una soñadora......and then I wake up and all hell breaks lose....back to work!!
