Agreed. If you get past wanting to translate things literally, you will pick it up more quickly.

Exactly the word No hay nada mas, there's not nothing more for the moment is right for the usage in the Spanish and so many countries.

@Micho: I don't know in Spain, but usually, to a question meaning ""¿Qué tal? / ¿Qué pasa?" (or a colloquial equivalent, "¿qué onda?"), people wouldn't reply with "el asunto está agotado", as it's assumed as a simple trigger for starting a conversation, not to end it.

Here, some of the answers given when one thinks there isn't anything interesting enough to talk about it:

- Nada.
- Aquí.
- No pasa mucho (por aquí).
- No pasa nada.
...
