essay
I keep hearing this word on Univision Spanish TV, and I don't know what it means. It sounds like "essay" in English and I know it's not spelled right, but do you have any idea what it means? I think it's used to refer to people.

I'd say the word was probably "ese", which means "that" It can also be used to say "man" in a colloquial sense.

I would assume the first one, the second one is very colloquial and wouldn't be used on the news.

They pronounce the v like b. (touch your tongue to the back of your front teeth and say "chavo"... was that it? it comes out a bit like theabo ) So it could be ese chavo which would mean that fly boy. Does that seem like it would make any sense?
Is it possible they could have been talking about Hugo Chávez? |

No they we're talking about Hugo Chavez, they were talking about a singer, so what you say makes sense. Something like "that dude."
Gracias. |
