Damnificado

Then, perhaps I misunderstand the term carácter colectivo.
I thought that may have meant a put down of a person's character rather
than a victum of unfortunate circumstance.(which is the way I hear the
term damnficado used by LatinAmerican newscasters)

Better "indemnes" than "ilesos", here. "Indemne" is the contrary of "damnificado". "Ileso" means "not hurt" (its antonym would be "leso", although "herido" is more used)
