More gustar probs....

I hope your friends will like me --> Espero gustarle a tus amigos
(shouldn't she have used "gustare" here?)

I hope I will like your friends --> Espero que me gusten tus amigos
(would the word here be "gustaren."?)

these answers were given by a Alejandra from Uruguay.

Well, the construction is different in Spanish, you use the future and we use the infinitive or the subjunctive. If you said:

Creo que me gustarán tus amigos.

Then, you could use the future tense.

I don't know if in Latin America the future tense is used in such sentences.

I hope your friends will like me = Espero que les gustaré a tus amigos

I hope I will like your friends = Espero que me gustarán tus amigos.

Poli:

Caerles bien y gustarles es lo mismo, en este caso.

"Gustar" and "caer bien" are synonymous. But there is a slight difference, at least in Spain. I can say to a friend: "me caen bien/me gustan tus amigos", but if I tell a boy "Me gustas", he could understand that I like him more than a friend. I don't know if this is the same in other countries.

I wouldn't use the future in these sentences. Are you sure you would?

In general proper to use the subjunctive after esperar, but gustar is such a twisted verb that people may put those rules aside and use the simpler future tense instead.
