His brother Pedro hired Raquel, a lawyer, to investigate. Raquel traveled to Seville and met Mrs. Suarez’s son who told her Teresa was in Madrid. In Madrid, Raquel finds Mrs. Suarez, who tells her that Rosario and her son Angel moved to Argentina where Rosario married Martin Iglesias, as she thought Fernando had died in the war. Raquel then flew to Argentina and went to the address Mrs. Suarez gave her. At the address, she finds Angel’s half-brother Arturo Iglesias. Arturo informs Raquel that Rosario has died and he does not know where his brother is. Using an old photo of Angel, they search for him but have no luck. A store owner suggests that Jose, a long-time resident may remember him. Jose does not know Angel, but recommends Hector, who has lived there even longer. Hector remembers Angel, who was also a sailor. He provides them with a letter showing a return address in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Arturo feels that it is too late and Angel is already dead. In San Juan, Raquel goes to the address on the letter. A neighbour tells her that Angel has recently died, and that his wife died several years earlier. Raquel meets Angela, the daughter of Angel and Maria Luisa, at the cemetery. Angela takes Raquel home to meet her aunts and uncles who find Don Fernando’s story hard to believe. The next day, Angela gets news that her brother Roberto has been in an accident at his excavation site in Mexico.
