Mi amor

Listening to a telenovela they list the words as
¿Por qué eres así, mi amor.?

To me it sounds like " ... así, mi mi amor.? "

Is it possible she would double the "mi" for emphasis or am I mis-hearing it?

Since I can't have a listen myself, I couldn't say, but a repeated determiner isn't unheard of. A protagonist can stammer, stumble over words, repeat words or falter in speech any old time. Or you could have misheard.
