Loss leader
In the field of retailing, big stores often have what is called a loss leader, a product that they sell at or below cost (they lose money on it) with the purpose of getting people to come to the store to buy it. Once in the store, they know that most people will buy other stuff, therefore the store doesn't lose money in the long run.
How do you say loss leader in Spanish? Is there a specific word for this? Thanks for the help.
