Necesitaría una habitación para esta noche, ¿cuánto cuesta?
I'd like a room for tonight, how much is it?

¿es común usar "necesitar" así?

A mí parece mejor decir:
Me gustaría una habitación para esta noche.
Quiero una habitación para esta noche.
