Agarrase a un clavo albo quiere decir, aceptar cualquier propuesta, porque no se tiene muchas posibilidades si no es así. La verdad es que no sé como dar una buena definición de esta expresión idomática ya que es bastante coloquial. Sabe alguien el equivalente en inglés?

Agarrarse a un clavo ardiendo (albo) se dice 'to grasp/clutch at straws'.

I'd say "un clavo ardiendo", too. I'd never heard "un clavo albo"
