perro sato

Perro Sato = Stray Dog
No breed exactly - just any dog that is stray. Ciao Elaina |

Elaina, do you know if that's local vernacular for any specific region, because I've always hear perro callejero for stray dog.

perros satos
Elaina and David,
I did a little more research and what I found out agrees with what Elaina said. Perro sato is a dog of no particular pedigree. It is a term widely used in Puerto Rico, Cuba and Spain as well. Does anyone know what the term for mutt or mongrol is other Spanish speaking countries? Poli |

I must say I have never heard "perro sato" in Spain. We call them "perros callejeros" or "perros sin raza"
