Mucha gente cuando llega se sorprende al enterarse de que se habla más de una lengua actualmente en España. Muchas personas creen que en España sólo se habla el castellano. El español (también conocido como castellano) es la lengua oficial y se entiende en todas partes. España tiene muchos idiomas.

No tengo tiempo para responder por qué.

The reasons why different languages in Spain are a reality have largely to do with politics and geography. It's interesting that a nation that gave birth to a world language is as linguistically fractious as it is, and apparently has always been.
