I'd go with cebolla morada, but I'm not sure what the best way to say it is.

I believe it would be cebolla morada. You might want to wait for a native speaker opinion though.

Purple Onion aka Red Onion = Cebolla Morada (either way)

No. In English they are called red onions and in Spanish they are called cebollas moradas. They are more of a purplish color than red.

Purple Onion = cebolla morada
Red Onion = Cebolla roja Thats how i see it. So i guess cebolla morada is what you are looking for. |
