Él era un poco posesivo, era medio controlador. Someone explained the word medio here to mean you think he is controlling but you're not sure how much, a little, maybe a lot. Algo como: I think he is controlling. Is that right?

That's right. He's a bit of a controller is probably more correct.

Yes, "a bit of a controller" or I guess you could also say "somewhat a controller" or "kind of a controller," right?
