En México se dice "(teléfono) celular", y coloquialmente, "cel".

Móvil o teléfono móvil, la primera la usa todo cristo en España, "Cel" aquí no se usa, me recuerda a un personaje de "Bola de Dragón"

Me he comprado un móvil nuevo.
¿Me pasas tu número de móvil?
El otro día me robaron el móvil en la discoteca (esto me pasó de verdad xD)

"Estará entendido" is not correct. Pino's suggestion is the most natural way to say it.

In any case, "...si será entendido/comprendido por la gente de Latinoamérica/América Latina", but passive voice doesn't always sound natural in Spanish.
