Fui claro/estuve claro
Oí alguien decir ¿fui claro?
Quisiera saber si podría usa ¿estuve claro? (así lo diría yo).

¿Si los dos son correctos, tienen significados distintos?

Mmm... quizás exista un componente regional. En España utilizamos "fui claro". "Estuve claro", aunque correcto, nos suena más a "tener algo claro". De verdad, no sabría qué decirle, para mí pueden llegar a ser sinónimos exactos al igual que la estructura "ser/estar consciente de algo".

Bueno, fue claro. Ser tiene que ser el uso más común. Es por la incertitud que todavía tengo cuando uso ser y estar que me dió la duda.

No sé en otras regiones, pero "estar claro(a)" en general se usa para una idea, no para la persona que la expresa. Cuando se trata del que habla, siempre he oído "ser claro".

Opino eso mismo. Creo que el uso de "ser" sólo puede entenderse dentro de la perífrasis, ¿no sonaría absurdo si tomásemos "ser claro" literalmente?
