Acabo de
Hola!
Gracias de antemano a todo-as. |

"And they all felt as if they had just woken up from a pleasant dream".

Not only. I don't believe much the DRAE when it comes to regionalisms, but according to them, it's used like that in Asturias, León, Argentina, Colombia, Ecuador, México, República Dominicana... and apparently, in Guatemala too, since this text is written by Augusto Monterroso.
@katerina: I think JPablo had already said this, but "gracias mucho" is a wrong expression. "Muchas gracias" is the correct thing to say. If you want to exchange order, you could also say "gracias muchas", but it's not usual.

[And everyone was feeling as if they had just woken up from a pleasant dream...] Mientras que sin el "de" it would mean something different, "Y todos sentían como si acabaran de recordar un grato sueño..." [And everyone was feeling as if they had just remembered a pleasant dream...] (Korrect my jEnglish, plissss!)
