Si acaso - Subjunctive
Hoy dije, «Si acaso llega, me avisa»

(Mary, Mary quite contrary...)

Quote:
"Si" + Indicative Si llega, me avisas. Si acaso llega, me avisas. Si es que llega, me avisas. "Si" + Imperfect subjunctive Si llegara, me avisas. Si fuera a llegar, me avisas. This is true except for the strange little rule that the present subjunctive never follows "si" (meaning "if"). I always thought it was a strange rule, but I'm used to it now.

@David: You're right about using the rule, but here the possibility to use present subjunctive is introduced by "acaso" (and it would sound a bit too literary). Still, your examples are what most people would say most of the times.
