Stem Changers
These are one of my biggest down falls when writing in Spanish.
How do you know which words are stem changers? When I am given a verb to conjugate I am not always certain whether it is a stem changer or not. Is this something I should memorize or is there a way were I can pick out the words that are stem changers? If someone has any tips or tricks to help me that would be great. |

It's a question of whether it was a short or a long vowel in Latin. So basically it's just something you have to memorise.

I think there isn't any problem with regular verbs, but with irregular ones. But most used verbs are irregular . However, many of them follow a pattern. When you look for a verb in a dictionary, you'll find something like: "se conjuga como [x verb]", although some of them have their own irregularity. I think there isn't any trick to learn them (but practice).
