Hablándoles a los niños...
Hola Hispanohablantes Nativos!

Terms of endearment for children may also change from one Spanish-spelking nation to another. Sosia's examples may be valid in all countries, but be aware that nene and nena are often used in Puerto Rico. Chiquitico/a Colombia etc. Native speakers in the forum may give you more local words.

Nene/nena and Chiquitico/a are common also in spain.
But usually in Spain we use the word "mono, monada" as cute, but in other countries sounds strange (as monkey) Saludos

But if you taught your kid all the polite and educated words first...That would actually be an interesting experiment.

But I need to be polite first, before I can teach them. Thank you for the advice.
