No dejar títere con cabeza

I know it as "no dejar títere con cabeza". In a figurative sense, it means to attack and kill everyone by "cutting their heads off".


Ese periodista critica a todo el mundo; no deja títere con cabeza.

En la última reducción de personal, entre las secretarias no dejaron títere con cabeza. (Las despidieron a todas.)

El asaltante se llevó las pertenencias de todos los pasajeros del autobús. No dejó títere con cabeza.

Perdón se mezclaron dos hilos;
No dejar titere con cabeza es una expresión muy castellana usada en Castilla la Vieja, y dudo que la conozcan los jóvenes hoy en día. QUiere decir revolver todo, registrar todo, jugar con todo, no dejar nada quieto, dependiendo del contexto.
1. Revolver todo y dejarlo desordenado por ejemplo un niño, los cojines, los jueguetes, los platos , las cartas etc...
2. Registrar todo, lo mismo.

Cómo se diría en Inglés ?

Yo he oído esta expresión con el sentido que comenta Angélica: criticar y despedir, por ejemplo. También se dice "no quedó títere con cabeza". Un títere es una marioneta.

criticar por completo un lugar o a las personas que están en él
El director no dejó títere con cabeza al finalizar la reunión.

para mí es como Angélica e irmamar, atacar verbalmente o figuradamente a todo el mundo.
Ej: Tras los problemas en la introducción del nuevo producto, el presidente convocó a los directivos a una reunión y no dejó títere con cabeza.

Esto es, fue de uno en uno diciéndoles lo que habían hecho mal. La explicación es muy gráfica, en un teatro de marionetas (títeres), se va atacando y descabezando (un títere es poco más que cabeza y dos bracitos...)
