Cuando el cáncer traspasa la pared de la estructura de donde originó, se le llama "infiltrating"

¿Qué palabra sería la más adecuada para usar?

Elaina, esta es una buena pregunta, y no sé la respuesta. Pero parece que puede usarse infiltrar:

Infiltrante is the present participle. It can be used like this:
carcinoma ductal infiltrante
el cáncer infiltrante

The verb is infiltrar:
El cáncer infiltra los tejidos vecinos.

Infiltrar es correcto cuando el cancer invade tejados colindante al tumor. Metátesis se usa cuando e cáncer invade otros sitios en el cuerpo.

Well, the correct word is "metástasis".

Metátesis is a transformation figure in languages.

Gracias a todos.

Tengo entendido que cuando se usa la palabra metástesis es porque se ha infiltrado a otras partes del cuerpo, pero ....

Cuando el cáncer ha roto la barrera del tejido donde se encuentra eso es diferente, no?

Creo que infiltrante y metástesis son dos cosas diferentes.

Me estoy inclinando a usar infiltrante.

The RAE says:

infiltrar.

6. prnl. Med. Dicho de un elemento nocivo: Penetrar en un tejido orgánico.

metástasis.
(Del gr. μετάστασις, cambio de lugar).
1. f. Med. Propagación de un foco canceroso en un órgano distinto de aquel en que se inició.
2. f. Med. Resultado de esta propagación.
