rebajar (verb) — to reduce, diminish, lessen, decry. Look up rebajar in the dictionary

I have heard that rebejar used to mean to bargain with in order to get a lower price.
Pidieron $700 para el colchón pero voy a perdir rebaja con $500 en mi bolsillo nada más.

Correcto.

A eso tambien se le llamaria "diluir" o "aguar".

"cut down" and there is another term in English that I cannot remember...

Me gusta ir de rebajas, todo está rebajado al 50%.
No me gusta que me rebajen el vino con agua.
También se puede rebajar algún objeto, acortándolo un poco (en este caso, una tabla)

Agree. To water down and to cut are two ways to say the same thing. To cut down means something else.

Correcto. I had forgotten about "water down" and I guess I was thinking in Spanish "reducir" when I wrote "cut down"
