Ok, you can use these words in a lot sentences for example, if you have to say, Me ido por mucho tiempo, I gone for long time, and the other word is used in this example that I will give you now, Siempre pienso que a lo largo del tiempo en la vida ha pasado cosas muy bonitas, I always think along the time in the lives has happened things very beautiful.

I hope my examples to be of helpful for you.

long is largo and along is like I went along with you. Get along with him, not fight with him. Do you understand ? Also, look at Crotalito's examples.

croalito, long mean: largo ,right?
and along means: a lo largo?
yes, i think they are perfect. and thank you foo your help

yes, jessica one bit correction long in spanish mean largo because grande mean big.. ok thanks for you coperation.... yes, i understand you, but if you can tell that in spanish will be better.

oops....a mistake
yes long is largo (and big is grande, got mixed up here). My hair is long. ummm Mi pelo es largo. ??
along has nothing to do with long, but its translation is a la largo de, I believe

Yes, long mean largo, extenso.
And along mean A lo largo de.

long can also be used in a sentence like this:
As long as you don't give away personal information, it is ok to chat with people online....but be careful.

but i have any question becuse i saw some verb used with this word for example: go along. walk along . etc

why?

Here is the definition of along; tell me if you don't understand
ALONG (preposition)

1: in a line matching the length or direction of <walking along the road>; also : at a point or points on <a house along the river>
2: in the course of <made stops along the way>
3: in accordance with: IN <a new agreement along the lines of the first>

ALONG (adverb)
1: FOWARD, ON <move along>
2: from one to another <word was passed along>
3 a: in company : as a companion <brought his wife along> -- often used with the word with
b: in association -- used with with <work along with colleagues>
4 a: sometime within a specified or implied extent of time -- usually used with about <along about July 17>
b: at or to an advanced point <plans are far along>
5: in addition : ALSO -- usually used with with <a bill came along with the package>
6: at hand : as a necessary or useful item <brought an extra one along> <had his gun along>


along can also be used in the words:

*come-along
*come along
*get along
*go along
*run along
*sing-along
*string along
*tag along
