¡Hola a todos!

The famous soccer player Diego Maradona is known internationally as El Pelusa, what does this word mean? Why is he called so? Thanks!

I couldn't find out why, but I think Poli is right: he's not very tall and his huge mane must have looked like a ball of fluff or fuzz on the field.

Maradona debe el apodo de ‘El Pelusa’ a su pelo. Desde muy joven lo llevaba algo largo, rizado y desordenado. Como una pelusa decían que era… y de ahí su apelativo más famoso, que no el único.
