i know cinta adhesiva is not the best word. is cinta adhesiva de trapo la palabra?

I've heard people use "cinta gris" for "duct tape". I've never heard "cinta adhesiva de trapo".

I looked a bit. The curent names are:
"cinta de tela"
"cinta adhesiva de tela"
"cinta americana"
"cinta americana de tela"
"cinta plateada"
"cinta gris"
So I will continue using "cinta de tela"

True. It's good to know all of them. Just don't forget where you're at so that you'll know what to call "it". Whatever "it" may be.

Just a funny note about duct tape.....did you know that many native speakers didn't know it was called DUCT tape? they thought it was "DUCK" tape!!
