This is a discussion thread for the Daily Spanish Word for June 24, 2009
columpio (masculine noun (el)) — swing, swing set. Look up columpio in the dictionary A mis hijos les gusta jugar en los columpios. My children like to play on the swings.

A los niños gustan los columpios, y las niñas gustan las muñecitas (muñeca + ita = little doll? ¿O debe decir, 'muñecas pequeñas'?) gracias

The diminutive for muñeca is muñequita, but the meaning changes when pluralized (at least in Latin America. I don't know if it is the same in Spain). Muñequitos are cartoon shows.

By the way I reviewed what I wrote in my previous post and there was some bad info: muñequitas are little dolls muñequitos are cartoons
