Tanto y mucho

Hola, I am brand new to this forum. One question I got is ; what is the difference between tanto and mucho

and example is; I heard this song where a lyric is

tantas mujeres bonitas

coudln't that be the same as muchas mujeres bonitas

gracias, feliz ano nuevo

.oh yea and uno mas cosa. Is this forum more like spain spanish or latin america spanish? thanks.

tantas mujeres bonitas = so many pretty women
muchas mujeres bonitas = many pretty women
