Capitals with street names

Is it always required in Spanish to use a capital letter for a street if that street belongs to the whole term?

Go up Main Street and then go down St. John’s Street:
Suba la Calle Mayor y entonces baje la Calle San Juan.

Is it ever possible to use a lower case letter in this situation?
Suba la calle Mayor y entonces baje la calle San Juan.
